Just Peachy (Geraldine Wharry)

Peach is affirming itself as the next colour to follow in the footsteps of Pink which has dominated the fashion scene in retail design, visual merchandising, fashion film, photography and design for several years now.

This particular peach tone is offbeat and creamy. It echoes the Coral tones which were leading the market about 4 years ago but in a much more pastel expression for 2017 and beyond.

The designers picking up this offbeat candy hue are Louis Vuitton and Molly Goddard. It is key to note we first noticed Peach making a statement in art installations as seen in Andrew Chapman, Kwangho Lee and Anouk Kruithof's sculptures.

When paired with greys and metallics, Peach transcends its sweet childlike like quality as seen in Evelyn Bencicova Nature Morte inspired photography. This is where Peach will have a high versatility when paired with neutrals or denim tones as seen in Louis Vuitton.

The key is to not to shy away from colour and unusual colour combinations as bold juxtapositions become trans-seasonal.
