Canadian outerwear brand Soia & Kyo is diving into retail with the launch of its first ever retail store, set to open in the Greater Toronto Area at Mississauga’s Square One Mall.

The store will span approximately 2,300 square feet and is slated to open this August. Upon opening, the store will house Soia & Kyo’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection.
The brand, headed by Creative Director Ilan Elfassy, launched in 2004, and specializes in outerwear such as wool coats, leather jackets and down coats, as well as accessories and other transitional pieces likes blazers for both men and women.
The company recently made international headlines for being worn by Meghan Markle.
Soia & Kyo joins a number of fellow outerwear brands who have decided to delve into retail in recent years. Canada Goose officially opened its first retail store in its hometown of Toronto at Yorkdale Shopping Centre at the end of 2016. The brand has since expanded to open stores in New York, as well as outside North America in London, UK.
Sister brand Mackage, also a division of The APP Group, unveiled its first retail location in Quebec in 2015, and has since opened stores in Toronto, Vancouver and New York City.
Finally, fellow Montreal-based outerwear brand Moose Knuckles has also taken the plunge into retail with the opening of its first retail location in Toronto, in 2017.
Soia & Kyo is currently available in a range of multi-brand stores in North America, such as Nordstrom, The Bay, Simons and others. Plans for any further store openings have not yet been announced.
