Wooyoungmi: Katie Chung becomes co-creative director

In search of a fresh new look, the menswear brand Wooyoungmi has appointed a new co-creative director. The very family-oriented house, founded by Woo Young Mi and her sister in 2002 has chosen the designer’s daughter, Katie Chung, to fill the position.

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins, Chung has worked at Wooyoungmi as head of the brand’s artistic direction in the broader sense of the term.

Having worked on the brand’s image, the representative of the family’s second generation will now be responsible for design, moving into the studio to work alongside her mother.

As it ”reaches a new stage in its development, Katie will offer a new dynamic, progressive and innovative approach,” said brand in a statement.
