White Stuff boosts Scottish store count with Silverburn opening

White Stuff has strengthened its presence in Scotland, opening a store in Silverburn shopping centre, Glasgow.

The UK fashion & lifestyle retailer’s new 1,965 sq ft store (at Unit F4, next to global high street brands Zara and H&M) features its new branding and store design, plus its “unique, thoughtfully created designs and use of sustainable fabrics”.

Silverburn will be the retailer's 116th UK store, albeit down from 125 stores a year ago following a post-pandemic restructure at the business that saw it exiting lower-performing stores. However, it has maintained its concession count (55 of them, including units with big names M&S, John Lewis and Next) in addition to international concessions in Germany and Belgium.

Late last year, White Stuff certainly bounced back from the pandemic down period. It announced it had returned to profitability in the year to the end of April, with EBITDA of £8.6 million compared to a loss of £3.4 million the year before.

Total sales for the period leapt 41.8% to £133.6 million and its retail sales rocketed 128.4% to £62.2 million.
