Tim Coppens in the vanguard of designers streaming on Instagram Live for FW

Tim Coppens has announced his plan to show his upcoming fashion week collection via Instagram’s new Live platform. The menswear designer is one of the first designers to show via this platform, which will stream simultaneously with his runway presentation at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy on January 11.

Fans of the brand will be able to tune into the show via the Instagram app and watch the show as it unfolds. There is no word yet about whether the show will feature backstage footage or stick exclusively to the runway portion of the show.

The Instagram Live featured rolled out for the first time in November of 2016, stepping into the game to compete against Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook’s similar features.

Tim Coppens was named the guest of honor at this year’s Pitti Uomo fashion week, which will take place in Florence, Italy, January 10-13.  Coppens currently runs his own eponymous label and sits at the helm of Under Armour Sportswear as the Creative Director.

Coppens' previous accolades include being named a finalist at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund as well as for the LVMH Prize in 2014 and the ANDAM award in 2016. He also received a Designer of the Year nod at the 2016 CFDA Awards and took home the 2014 Swarovski Award for Menswear.

Tim Coppens’s 2017 show will be viewable via the designer’s Instagram account on January 11th.
