Super-signings: Aerie and American Eagle to open on Shaftersbury's Carnaby

A big capture for Shaftesbury. The London-centric property giant has signed well-known US sister brands American Eagle and Aerie to make their UK store debuts. Both have taken spaces at its key Carnaby shopping attraction in time for the festive push.

Due to open in December, both will occupy prominent stores on London’s Foubert’s Place. Denim-based casualwear retailer American Eagle will be located at 15 Foubert’s Place with 3,888 sq ft spread over ground floor and basement, while intimates brand Aerie has taken a 1,630 sq ft space, also over two floors, at 19 Foubert’s Place.

Nish Soneji, CEO American Eagle Europe/Aerie Europe, said: "As experts in bringing US fashion brands to the UK and Europe, we had to ensure the locations for American Eagle and Aerie's first London stores not only resonate with London's young and trend-savvy fashion consumers but would also make a dramatic impact for these game-changing brands. 

“With its mix of vibrant and directional international fashion players we knew instinctively that Foubert's Place and the Carnaby area was the perfect backdrop as a springboard for both American Eagle and Aerie in the UK.”
