RVCA leadership entrusted to former officer of Sperry Top-Sider

Neil Fiske has found his new CEO for RVCA. The chief executive of Billabong International Ltd has placed Bill Bettencourt at the helm of the streetwear brand. Beyond over four years as vice president of sales of the sailing-inspired shoe brand Sperry Top-Sider, it was probably his experience managing Vans that convinced Billabong Ltd’s leadership to bring him on board.

After spending more than seven years at Reebok, becoming vice president of Reebok International in 1998, Bill Bettencourt then moved over to Arena North America, serving as president of the company until 2004.

In late 2004, he joined Vans as vice president of footwear and equipment and became vice president product and marketing in 2009, remaining in the position until 2010.

RVCA is one of the brands, along with Element and Billabong, which the group plans to focus its efforts as it seeks to regain lost ground.
