Chinese label Icicle first caught the industry's attention in Europe in 2018, when it bought struggling Parisian label Carven. Icicle was founded in 1997 with a sustainable fashion approach that was atypical at the time, and made its European ambitions clear by opening a 500 m2 flagship store at 35 avenue Georges V, in the heart of Paris. The label is now set to double its Parisian presence with a store in rue Saint-Honoré, while Carven is preparing to open a store in place de la Concorde.

Isabelle Capron, vice-president of the Icicle group since 2013, is the brain behind the two labels. After spending her childhood in Beirut, Lebanon, where her family had a haute couture business, Capron enjoyed a varied career in France and internationally, switching between mass market distribution, marketing and communications.

Capron was formerly marketing director at Lanvin and general manager at gourmet food company Fauchon, experiences she shares in this French-language LuxurynsightXFashionNetwork podcast.
