Neom Organics appoints former L’Occitane chief as chairman

Neom Organics, the Harrogate-based wellbeing and beauty brand, has named a former L’Occitane executive as chairman. Emmanuel Osti, who was managing director of French cosmetics brand L’Occitane for over 15 years until 2015, will take up the role of chairman at Neom to help drive its next phase of growth.

He has a wealth of experience in the beauty sector, having held roles at major companies including Johnson & Johnson, L’Occitane and L'Oréal during his career.

In 2017, he was understood to be among the bidders for The Body Shop, which ended up being sold by L'Oréal to Brazil’s Natura in an £880m deal - £230m more than the £650m offer Osti had reportedly made with CVC Capital Partners.

Commenting on his new position as chairman of Neom, he told Cosmetics Business: “I am delighted to be joining [founders] Nicola, Oliver and the team at Neom.

“I have followed the brand’s journey with great interest and admiration and very much look forward to helping it develop further, bringing its unique and natural wellbeing products to even more customers.”

Last year, Neom secured growth capital from private equity firm Piper to fund a product range expansion, open more stores and invest in talent.

The brand has a total of three stores in London and Leeds and is stocked in major department stores including John Lewis, Selfridges, Fenwick and Isetan.
