Lily James stars in new Versace campaign as it launches Greca Goddess bag

Versace has released its ad campaign imagery for the AW22 season with British-American actress Lily James taking a starring role.

Focusing on the new Greca Goddess bag, the images show her as an almost unrecognisable “goddess”, shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Donatella Versace said that when James got in front of the camera, “she transformed. Wearing the collection unlocked her own personal attitude and she took on a new energy and power. That’s exactly how you should feel when wearing Versace”.

The company added that her “impulsive and daring attitude is the epitome of Versace confidence. Lily is seen as equal parts mythological deity and contemporary rebel as she wears new season latex ready-to-wear in a campaign that clashes classical culture with empowered seduction”.

The company is launching the Greca Goddess line of bags for the autumn season.

The campaign also stars Sofiane Belaasri, Yilan Hua, Avanti Nagrath, Reece Nelson, Parker Van Noord and Lulu Wood.
