Kim Kardashian trademarks daughter North West's name in beauty industry
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's eldest daughter, North West, could soon become the name of a cosmetic brand, or a toy and game brand.
On March 10, former reality TV star turned businesswoman Kim Kardashian filed a trademark application for the name North West via her company Kimsaprincess Inc. in four areas: entertainment, advertising, toys, including dolls and educational games, and cosmetics.
Indeed, according to the trademark application, the name North West, who will turn 10 in June, could be used for moisturising creams and lotions, cleansers, bubble baths, nail and hair care products.
However, this is not the first time that Kim Kardashian, mother of four toddlers, has trademarked the names of her children. In 2019, the celebrity whose fortune is estimated at 1.2 billion dollars, had already registered the name of North West in the field of ready-to-wear, says the newspaper The Sun, pointing out that the name of Psalm, her youngest son has been registered twelve times.
So is Kim Kardashian, who is successful with her lingerie brand Skims and her cosmetics label SKKN, which is owned by US beauty group Coty, building a family empire or just protecting her offspring?
One thing is for sure, North West is already making a name for herself. The little girl, who has been spotted on the catwalk with her parents, has a TikTok following of over 15 million people on the Kim & North account she shares with her mother. North West will also soon be the voice of one of the characters in the children's movie "Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie."
