John McPhee named Sam Edelman president

Caleres announced on Wednesday the appointment of John McPhee as the president of its Sam Edelman brand. 

McPhee joins Caleres from Herman Miller Retail, where he served as president and chief operating officer since 2010. 

Prior to Miller Retail, he was president of Design Within Reach, before it was acquired by Herman Miller.

In this new role, McPhee will work with founder Sam Edelman to help build the company into a premium brand. The new president will be focusing on key areas such as finance, inventory management, and retail operations, while Edelman will focus on creating product and marketing, according to a press release.

“With Sam and John we now have a winning blend of complementary skills for the Sam Edelman brand,” said Diane Sullivan, CEO, president, and chairman of Caleres.
