Invista buys Cone Denim's dual core patent portfolio

Invista has secured a strong position in the dual core textile market. The textile firm has announced the purchase of Cone Denim patents and dual core yarn technologies from parent group International Textile Group. One of the world's largest integrated producers of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibers, Invista already offers a large variety of textile solutions including Lycra, Coolmax, Cordura, Stainmaster and Antron.

"Given the growth of dual core technology in recent years, we are excited to add this technology to the Invista patent estate," said Jean Hegedus, director of Invista's denim business, who added that Invista sees this move as a logical expansion of its dual core portfolio.

"We look forward to working with our customers and licensees to expand the Lycra dualFX fabric business."

A leading denim innovator for more than 125 years, Cone Denim delivers expertise and advanced denim capabilities to a global market. The acquired patent had been in use by the firm for the last ten years.
