On Monday, Hermès announced it is “expanding the composition” of its executive committee by adding as new members the group’s head of HR Sharon MacBeath and the fragrances & beauty division’s CEO Agnès de Villers.

The new members will formally join the committee, comprising eight other members and the group’s CEO Axel Dumas, on March 1. de Villers joined Hermès in 2015, when the group decided to expand its fragrance business. In 2020, she launched “the group’s 16th specialisation,”  beauty products, regarded as “a genuine growth driver” for Hermès, as the group stated in a press release.

In 2021, the fragrances & beauty division generated a revenue of €385 million - out of Hermès’s total revenue of €8.98 billion - posting a 46% year-on-year increase.

Scotland-born Sharon MacBeath joined Hermès in June 2019 after a career in human resources at leading global corporations in the retail distribution, services and manufacturing sectors, according to a press release by Hermès, a group that employs 17,600 people worldwide.

MacBeath has also served on the group's supervisory board and on its governance committees.

“An important step for the expansion of Hermès, these two appointments testify to the broadening of the executive committee’s professional and personal skills,” stated Hermès.

Last week, Hermès announced that it had recorded “its best-ever year” in 2021, with a net income of €2.445 billion and sales just shy of €9 billion. A revenue that, prior to the pandemic, the group had predicted it would achieve in 2024, according to an interview with Dumas published by French newspaper Le Figaro last Friday.
