French start-up Ever Dye wins Andam’s Innovation Prize 2022

In 2017, a new category, aimed at recognising technology solutions designed to make the fashion industry more sustainable, was added to Andam’s prestigious fashion awards. This year, the Andam’s Innovation Prize was awarded to Ever Dye, a French start-up that has developed a textile dyeing process that is less harmful to the environment.

Founded in the Ile-de-France region in 2021 by Ilan Palacci and Amira Erokh, Ever Dye says that the solution it has developed, associated to a bio-sourced pigment, makes it possible to dye garments faster and using less energy. Winning this year's Innovation Prize has earned Ever Dye €70,000 in prize money, succeeding Finnish company Spinnova, the 2021 winner.

“My priority for future editions is to increase the importance of this award, which plays a paramount role for the fashion industry’s future. I congratulate Ever Dye, whose innovation in the field of green chemistry will make it possible to eliminate the use of petrochemicals in traditional dyeing processes, reducing their energy impact” said Nathalie Dufour, founder and CEO of Andam.

Ever Dye was picked as winner by a jury of industry professionals meeting on April 20 at [sustainable fashion incubator] La Caserne in Paris. The other 2022 Innovation Prize finalists, given priority access to advice by Andam committee members and the association’s ecosystem, were Eva Engines (an AI-based collaborative design tool), Fairbrics (new textile manufacturing processes) and Fairly Made (a website whose methodology enables brands to measure and reduce their environmental impact).

The Andam Prize competition was created in 1989 and today features five categories, with a total prize money of €600,000. The winner of the main prize, awarded to an emerging designer, will be announced on June 30. Last year, British designer Bianca Saunders was selected as winner.
