Ex-Hobbs chief becomes non-exec at John Lewis

The John Lewis Partnership has made a high-profile retail appointment to its board, with former Hobbs chief executive Nicky Dulieu joining as a Non-Executive Director. She will also Chair the Audit and Risk Committee, with immediate effect.

She succeeds Andy Martin who stands down after five years with the Partnership.

Dulieu was Hobbs CEO from 2008 until 2014, having joined the fashion retailer as Financial Director. She started her career with M&S, where she held various strategic and financial roles over a 23-year period.

Sharon White, Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said Dulieu’s “extensive experience and successful track record will be of great value to the Partnership as we continue to progress our five-year growth plan.” 

She added: “On behalf of the business, I would also like to thank Andy for the important contribution he’s made over the last five years.”

Dulieu joins Rita Clifton who is also Deputy Chairman of the Partnership board.

In addition, the recruitment for a Non-Executive Director to replace now-CEO Nish Kankiwala is unde rway following his appointment in March, having previously served as Non-Executive director on the Partnership Board for two years.
