Dior unveils a gold-inspired makeup range for holiday 2015

The Christian Dior house is reinterpreting the traditional codes of the holiday period and presenting a new expression of luxury and style with its State of Gold makeup collection, entirely dedicated to the end-of-the-year festivities. Gold and its many shades take center-stage in this collection that is both glamorous and festive. The collection is available on Dior's online boutique and in select retailers as of November.

With this Christmas collection, Peter Philips, head of creation and design for Dior cosmetics, combines glamourous and elegant gold with the emblematic grey shade of the French label. The collection contains shades of ivory, red, dark violet and copper and pink tones, creating an audacious and magnetic palette.

A luminous and transparent complexion

This winter, the trend for a clear and transparent complexion is being embraced by all cosmetic brands. Skin is left to breathe and is only enhanced by a pearly sheen to sculpt and illuminate the face. For this result, Dior beauty presents its Diorific State of Gold compact powder available in Luxurious Beige (US $82). The gold case contains mother-of-pearl infused powder that is used to subtly magnify skin texture for an aerial and glowing finish.

A magnetic eye makeup combined with velvet lips

Two variations of the State of Gold 5 Couleurs Collector holiday palettes (US $63) are offered to sculpt and dress the eyes, giving off the perfect magnetic look for the holidays. The Eternal Gold palette includes a shimmering white gold, a dark violet taupe, an iridescent black shade, beige and a greyed linden tone while the Blazing Gold palette contains a nude shadow, a frosted brown, a sparkling coal and a deep Bordeaux hue. Both palettes combine enchanting and flamboyant nuances with more subtle shades.

At Dior, lips are velvet matte for Christmas. The Diorific Mat (US $38) lipstick is enriched in a powder that allows the color to be smoothed out and contains three hydrating oils. Lips are matte, intense and vivid. For the holiday celebrations, focus can be put on both lips and eyes. Dior beauty presents a whole range of colors for extravagant, classic or even couture looks, offering the following shades: fuchsia, bois de rose (forest rose), rouge classique (classic red), nude and prune.

Nails also get a holiday makeover with the Diorific Vernis nail polishes of the State of Gold collection. The colors are concentrates of sparkle with platinum or gold shimmer. Dior completes the collector's nail polish line with four elegant hues: prune, baby pink, red and a golden grey (US $28).

The State of Gold collection by Dior is completed with the Diorshow Fusion Mono eyeshadow in Blazing (US $31), and the Dior Addict Gloss, available in sparkly beige (US $29.50).
