Coach unveils 1941 Fall 2016 ad campaign

Published

Coach on Tuesday unveiled its Coach 1941 Fall 2016 ad campaign launching globally in August.

The Coach 1941 Fall 2016 ad campaign shot by Steven Meisel, styled by Karl Templer and art-directed by Baron & Baron

The campaign, which was shot by Steven Meisel, styled by Karl Templer and art-directed by Baron & Baron, is set in Brooklyn and captures the Fall 2016 collection’s feminine and tough mood. Fresh faces Rianne Van Rompaey, Sandra Schmitt, Jing Wen, Caitie Green, Dilone and Finnlay Davis model pieces from the collection with a vintage American car and the New York City skyline serving as a backdrop.

Pieces featured in the campaign include workwear-inspired patchwork, varsity jackets, tea dresses and oversized shearling coats, as well as the Rogue bag, a new Coach 1941 design featuring studs, rivets and patchwork.

Creative Director Stuart Vevers says, "Coach is about New York City. The word 'cool' as we know it and Coach were both born in the city in 1941—and they've both had 75 years of swagger in pop culture." Vevers adds: "I wanted to capture that pop sense of cool in this collection. It's about ease, utility and fun—a type of creative subversion and bringing a new perspective to luxury."

Vevers launched Coach 1941 in 2014 shortly after assuming the role of Creative Director succeeding Reed Krakoff, who parted ways with Coach to focus on his own line. The British designer stepped into the role after serving as Creative Director at Loewe. He also worked for Calvin Klein, Bottega Veneta, Givenchy and Louis Vuitton before serving as Creative Director of Mulberry.
