Christian Lacroix's new collection for Desigual brings bold pattern play

The long-time relationship between Christian Lacroix and Desigual continues for Fall-Winter 2019 with a fun, audacious, colorful collection exploding with XXL patterns.

While collaborations between fashion brands and designers have multiplied over the years, there have been very few multi-year partnerships. Desigual and Christian Lacroix, whose respective aesthetics now seem to have completely merged, is one such exception.

Since 2012, the Spanish brand and the famous French couturier have been adding a touch of whimsy to women's ready-to-wear with modern, colorful, and fun collections that definitely don't take themselves too seriously.

The Fall-Winter 2019 collection will be no exception, with amped-up, vibrant colors that clash with extra-large patterns. The design reveals strong influences from Lacroix's baroque spirit, with a number of high-end elements and materials such as bows and silk.

Among the centerpieces of the new collection are a yellow cocoon jacket with an XXL floral print, a sheer t-shirt with polo neck, a black and neon shirt with a tie around the neck, and a hooded jacket perfect for cocooning. The selection of pieces has been specially made by campaign star Najwa Nimri.

The Spanish actress, who plays in the series "Money Heist" ("La Casa de Papel"), has not only made a selection of her favorite pieces, but will also be the face of the equally colorful and fun campaign by Virgili Jubero.
