Castore links up 007 for capsule collection to explore 'the inner Bond'

Castore’s hunger for expansion isn’t confined to the realms of top-level sports. The premium sportswear brand has joined up with fabled British spy 007 to create a capsule collection “that explores the synergies in mindset between high level athletes and James Bond”.

And the connection? “Both strive for marginal gains and to optimise their performance by physically pushing themselves to their limits”, no less. So the 12-piece collection, which goes on sale on the brand’s website from Thursday, is made up of high intensity training and lifestyle pieces, “encouraging the wearer to explore their inner Bond and athlete – and to demand the best from their wardrobe”.

With prices ranging from £12 to £175, the “timeless collection” features silhouettes that are “refined” while details are “discreet and functional”. To ensure items are “quietly” engineered to optimise performance, fabrics are lightweight and offer high stretch, while durable fibres are knitted in unique structures to optimise durability and breathability. Garments are also cut ergonomically to allow for a maximum range of movement, says Castore.

Key pieces in this collection include the 007 Garcia 2.0 Hoody, made from Castore’s “unique and innovative” water-resistant fabric; a Hybrid Jacket with quilted front and back for warmth and compact stretch sleeves for maximum range of movement; and Stretch Chinos “perfect for everyday wear, as a result of their tailored fit and naturally temperature regulating fabric that prevents overheating”.
