Bremont is named Official Timekeeper for Henley Royal Regatta

Major British event Henley Royal Regatta and luxury watch brand Bremont have announced an unprecedented partnership marking the first time the 178-year old rowing event teams up with a luxury watchmaker.

As Official Timekeeper, Bremont will build a custom hand held chronograph for the event’s umpires as well as other official event clocks. An important data in the British sporting summer calendar, the Henley Royal Regatta attracts thousands of visitors over five days and spectators enjoy over 200 races of an international standard.

"Henley Royal Regatta was founded even before the America's Cup in 1839, and with our heritage in mind, it is lovely to be part of another historical British event. Remarkably Henley Royal Regatta is one of the few sporting events that is still timed mechanically rather than digitally which is very in-keeping with what Bremont is all about,” said Giles English, co-founder of Bremont.

The luxury watch brand will be joined at the event by Hackett London and Aston Martin, which have been also announced as official event partners.

“Being a leading luxury watch brand, and located in Henley-on-Thames, it is fantastic to have them on board as Official Timekeepers for Henley Royal Regatta. We have been working closely on the event clocks and hand-held mechanical stopwatches for the race umpires which we are very excited about," said Sir Steve Redgrave, chairman of the Regatta's management committee.

This year, Henley Royal Regatta will take place from 28 June to 2 July and as part of the partnership, Bremont will have a pop-up boutique on site, situated outside the bandstand entrance to the Stewards' Enclosure. The space will give Bremont the opportunity to showcase its entire range of watches to a new public.
