Bol.com hires Boukje Taphoorn as Chief Marketing Officer

Bol.com, the Dutch e-tailer known for offering accessories and luxury jewelry as well as books and electronic,s is welcoming Boukje Taphoorn as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Taphoorn will start at the company on 1 March 2018.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Taphoorn will be responsible for marketing communication; brand management; business development; customer and partner service and the Bol.com retail media group (advertising via Bol.com). Taphoorn succeeds Margaret Versteden, who has recently changed management roles and is now Chief Commercial Officer at Bol.com.

Taphoorn joins Bol.com from Google, where she was responsible for the FMCG, automotive, consumer electronics and food retail sectors for more than five years. Taphoorn started her career at Unilever in 1998, first as a marketer in the Netherlands, then leading the European brand management team of the Unilever Home Care brands in London. After Unilever, she worked for the advertising agencies wieden + kennedy and KesselsKramer.

Huub Vermeulen, CEO at Bol.com said: “We are very excited about Boukje's capacity to strengthen Bol.com with her experience at management level in the development of new markets and technologies, combined with expertise in marketing, brand management and online marketing. By hiring Taphoorn Bol.com has completed its management team. The management team now consists of: CEO Huub Vermeulen; CFO Gert-Jan Janssen; CTO Jurrie van Rooijen; CCO Margaret Versteden; and from 1 March 2018, CMO Boukje Taphoorn.
