Berlin Fashion Week will take place on June 28 to July 1, 2016

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin will be held for the first time before the Couture shows in Paris next summer.

According to the German economic administration, the event will take place in the capital from June 28 to July 1, avoiding the usual overlap with the Haute Couture collections in France.

“This will secure the necessary planning for organisers, fashion industry insiders and buyers,” said Cornelia Yzer, Senator for Economics, Technology and Research of Berlin (CDU).

Until now, both events were usually held around the same time in July, forcing visitors to choose between the two. The new change will only be effective as of the summer 2016 edition, as Berlin’s next winter Fashion Week will take place as planned on January 18-22.
