Astrid & Miyu opens first UK store in north with Leeds debut

Jewellery retailers continue to sparkle on the retail scene with another brand announcing it’s on the expansion trail. This time it’s Astrid & Miyu opening its first regional store in the UK, following a number of global (New York and Berlin) and London-based openings.

The new store, which opens on 25 August, is located in the heart of the Victoria Quarter centre in Leeds, with the 83 sq ft, two-storey, space becoming a “playground for jewellery lovers”. 

It houses the brand’s complete line of stackable jewellery as well as the “beloved” experiential shopping attractions, including onsite piercings, weldings, and tattoos. Newly-launched red ink tattoos are “proving a hit on social media”, it noted.

Reflecting the store’s Grade II listing, the space takes inspiration from old and new architecture with dark timber marble interiors complementing Astrid & Miyu’s standard pink features. 

With Leeds marking the first in a list of “exciting regional expansions”, Sharon Solis, Retail Director at Astrid & Miyu, said: “We’ve been working hard to find the perfect location for the brand to open our first new UK store of 2022, so we’re extremely delighted to announce the news that we’re opening… in Leeds, offering an elevated customer experience. 

“This year we are focusing on expanding our presence outside of London, specifically where we already have a strong online community,” she added without giving further details.
