Amazon.com announced the completion of its acquisition of Zappos.com on Monday 2 November, finalising an agreement that was first announced on July 22, 2009.

Zappos.com was founded in 1999 and offers thousands of brands of shoes and clothing on its retail site.

The Zappos management team will remain intact, and Zappos will run its business independently of Amazon, with headquarters in Las Vegas, USA.
