AS Adventure acquires Snow & Rock in England

AS Adventures is expanding. The Belgian-based outdoor specialist recently acquired the British company Rock & Snow Sports from LGV Capital. The British investment firm had itself acquired the sporting goods distributor, which owns the retailers Snow & Rock, Cycle Surgery and Runners Need, in 2010.

In purchasing Rock & Snow Sports, AS Adventure has established itself as a major player in sports in Britain and Ireland. It indeed already owned the retailer Cotswold, with over 60 stores in the UK. Both retailers should be working together.

"The AS Adventure Group will work with Snow & Rock, alongside its existing Cotswold Outdoor brand, to develop exciting customer propositions across multi-activity categories to become the largest outdoor retailer in the UK with a combined turnover of 210 million pounds ($ 292 million)," the company said in a statement. 

The group, which owns the AS Adventure network, which is present in Belgium Luxembourg and France, as well as through Bever in the Netherlands, plans to become a "European leader in outdoor retail" with an announced turnover of 550 million euros.
