A-Z, the new sports brand by Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already launched a fragrance in his name, and an energy drink. Now the Swedish football star is about to present a new brand. After leading Parisian team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for the last four seasons, he will unveil A-Z on 7th June.
According to content posted on Ibrahimovic's social media accounts, the brand's target extends from "amateurs to Zlatan." A-Z will embrace the philosophy of self-improvement. The footballer, well-known for his escapades and his strong personality, has already began to spread the word among his social media followers.
The brand has been announced as unisex, featuring apparel for men, women and children. It will benefit from the footballer's notoriety, offering a performance sportswear collection. A-Z will be manufactured by Swedish group Varner, which also produces and distributes several brands in northern Europe.
A-Z's launch will coincide with Ibrahimovic's departure from PSG, while he is about to take part in one of his last major international tournaments with the Sweden national team, the Euro 2016 championships in France.
Many major athletes have tried to create their own apparel brand in the past. Among footballers, Cristiano Ronaldo recently started down this route, as did French player Djibril Cissé. Though in terms of success, Ibrahimovic will surely be looking for inspiration in his own country, towards tennis star Björn Borg.
